  3. Motor rated voltage (V): Usually 380V/400V/415V
  4. Motor type: Asynchronous, synchronous, servo, high-speed, etc.
  5. Motor insulation class: Affects tolerance to drive output dv/dt

Confirm Load Characteristics:

  1. Variable torque load (fans, pumps, compressors): Low starting torque, operating torque varies with speed squared, generally select by light-overload, drive current slightly larger than motor rated current is sufficient
  2. Constant torque load (conveyors, mixers, extruders): Torque basically constant over full speed range, need to select by heavy-duty, drive current needs sufficient margin
  3. Potential energy load (hoists, elevators, lifts): Requires four-quadrant operation or braking resistor, high braking capability requirement
  4. Overload requirement: Whether frequent starting, impact load, short-time overload is needed, overload multiple and duration

Confirm Drive Current Margin:

  • Basic principle: Drive rated output current ≥ Motor rated current × Safety factor
  • Light-overload applications (fans/pumps): Safety factor 1.0~1.1, drive current slightly larger than motor rated current is sufficient
  • Constant torque/heavy-duty applications: Safety factor 1.1~1.2, drive current needs 10~20% margin
