1. Product Overview

The EV220B 65-100 is Danfoss Sensing Solutions' high-capacity 2/2-way servo-operated (pilot piston) solenoid valve. With a cast-iron body and flanged connections covering DN65, DN80 and DN100 (2½", 3", 4"), it is designed for large on/off flow rates of water and similar neutral media.

It is pilot-operated: when energized, the coil first lifts the pilot plunger, and the resulting pressure difference drives the main piston open — hence a minimum working differential of 0.25 bar is required. The main valve includes an integral pilot strainer to protect the pilot orifice and a water-hammer damping element to reduce closure noise at large sizes.

The standard function is normally closed (NC): de-energized the valve closes under spring/pressure, energized it opens. Seals are available in EPDM or NBR. Body and coil are ordered separately; coil voltage and enclosure rating (up to IP67) are selected to suit the application.
