Product Details

1. Product Overview

The 1756-EN2T is an EtherNet/IP communication bridge module in Allen-Bradley's (Rockwell Automation) ControlLogix® Bulletin 1756 family. It installs in any ControlLogix chassis slot, communicates with the Logix controller over the backplane, and exposes a single RJ45 copper Ethernet port to bridge the control system onto the plant EtherNet/IP network.

The module follows EtherNet/IP (CIP over Ethernet) over 10/100Mbps autosensing twisted pair, supporting up to 128 TCP/CIP connections for programming/HMI, I/O devices (remote I/O, drives, smart instruments) and peer-to-peer exchange with other Logix controllers.

A USB 1.1 full-speed (12Mbps) configuration port allows local IP setup; front-panel LEDs show module and network status. The module draws 5.1V DC/1A and 24V DC/3mA from the backplane. It works with ControlLogix 5570/5580 control systems.

  3. Selection support: We help confirm port count, connection count, IP configuration and chassis/power/controller slot matching.
  4. Delivery & after-sales: Quotation, lead-time confirmation and order follow-up provided; for any parameter questions or alternative options, please contact us by email.

7. FAQ

Q1: What is the 1756-EN2T?

A: It is an EtherNet/IP communication bridge module for the ControlLogix 1750 system, mounting in a ControlLogix chassis slot and providing one RJ45 Ethernet port to connect the Logix controller to EtherNet/IP for programming, HMI, I/O and peer communications.

Q2: How many Ethernet ports? Does it support DLR ring?

A: The EN2T has a single RJ45 port and does not support DLR device-level ring. For a dual-port built-in switch/ring choose 1756-EN2TR; for gigabit choose 1756-EN3TR.

Q3: How many connections does it support?

A: Up to 128 TCP/CIP connections, in any combination of programming, HMI, EtherNet/IP I/O and controller peer links.

Q4: Does it need external power?

A: No. It draws 5.1V DC/1A and 24V DC/3mA from the ControlLogix backplane; max power dissipation is 5.1W.

Q5: How is the IP address set?

A: Via the front USB port (USB 1.1, 12Mbps) for local direct connection, or over Ethernet via BOOTP/network configuration software.

Q6: Which controllers is it compatible with?

A: It works with ControlLogix 5570, ControlLogix 5580 and other Bulletin 1756 control systems, configured in Studio 5000 Logix Designer. Series letters -A/-B/-C are hardware revisions. Please email us to confirm.
