Product Details

1. Product Overview

The FX1S-30MR-001 is the highest-I/O micro PLC in Mitsubishi Electric's MELSEC-F FX1S series, integrating power supply, CPU, 16 digital inputs and 14 relay outputs into one housing. At 100 mm wide, it supports DIN-rail or screw mounting and carries the most I/O in the FX1S line.

This is a relay-output (MR) unit that directly switches ≤240V AC / ≤30V DC loads at 2A per point, suitable for solenoid valves, contactor coils, indicator lights and small motors. Relay output has no high-speed pulse capability and is not suited to stepper/servo positioning applications (choose transistor-output MT for that).

The unit features built-in 2000-step EEPROM program memory (no battery), an on-board real-time clock and hour meter, and a built-in 24V DC / 400mA sensor supply.

Version note "-001" = Japanese domestic spec (fixed sink input)

Per Mitsubishi FX1S hardware manual JY992D83901. Relay outputs have no internal short-circuit protection; for DC inductive loads fit a free-wheeling diode, and for AC inductive loads fit an RC snubber. Frequent switching (several times per second) shortens contact life. The FX1S is an earlier-generation model; new designs are recommended to use its successor FX3S-30MR/ES.

5. Model Information

  • Model (ordering number): FX1S-30MR-001
  • Product description: Mitsubishi Electric MELSEC-F FX1S micro PLC, 30 I/O (16 in / 14 relay out), 100–240V AC supply, Japanese domestic spec.
  • Official catalog description: FX1S is the fit-and-forget PLC solution for space and cost conscious applications requiring up to 30 I/O.
  • Material number note: FX1S-30MR-001 is the official Mitsubishi Electric ordering model (Japanese domestic spec). The equivalent international CE/UL version is FX1S-30MR-ES/UL (switchable sink/source input). The "-001" suffix denotes Japanese domestic production with fixed sink input. If you have questions about the successor FX3S-30MR/ES compatibility, please contact us by email.
  • Series features:
    • Compact integrated design, 100 mm wide, DIN-rail mountable
    • Relay outputs switch both AC and DC at 2A/point, directly driving solenoids and contactors
    • Built-in EEPROM program memory, no battery, retained on power-off
    • On-board 24V DC / 400mA sensor supply simplifies field wiring
    • Built-in real-time clock and hour meter

6. Why Choose Us

  1. Exact model match: We verify supply against your full model FX1S-30MR-001, distinguishing MR (relay) from MT (transistor) and 001 (Japanese spec) from ES/UL (international spec) to avoid wrong shipment.
  2. Authorized channel supply: Mitsubishi Electric PLC supplied through regular channels, with product documentation available on request.
  3. Selection support: We help confirm I/O count, relay contact capacity vs. load requirements and sensor wiring; we can advise on upgrading to FX3S.
  4. Delivery & after-sales: Quotation, lead-time confirmation and order follow-up provided; for any parameter questions or alternative options, please contact us by email.

7. FAQ

Q1: How many I/O points does the FX1S-30MR-001 have? What is the output type?

A: 30 points total: 16 digital inputs (X0–X7, X10–X17, 24V DC) and 14 relay outputs (Y0–Y13). MR denotes relay output, which switches both AC and DC loads (≤240V AC / ≤30V DC).

Q2: Can the relay outputs directly drive contactors and solenoid valves?

A: Yes. Relay outputs switch ≤240V AC / ≤30V DC at 2A per point and 8A per common. For AC contactors or DC solenoids, fit an RC snubber or free-wheeling diode across the inductive load to extend contact life.

Q3: Can this PLC do high-speed pulse positioning?

A: No. Relay outputs are mechanical contacts with slow response and no high-speed pulse capability. For 100kHz stepper/servo positioning, choose the transistor-output (MT) version.

Q4: What is the difference between the -001 suffix and the ES/UL version?

A: FX1S-30MR-001 is the Japanese domestic model with fixed sink input; FX1S-30MR-ES/UL is the international CE/UL-certified version with switchable sink/source input. Hardware functions are identical; the differences are certifications and input wiring.

Q5: Does this PLC need a backup battery?

A: No. The FX1S stores the user program in built-in EEPROM; there is no battery and the program is retained on power-off.

Q6: Is this PLC still in production? Is there a successor?

A: The FX1S series is an earlier-generation Mitsubishi micro PLC. Mitsubishi's official replacement guide recommends FX3S-30MR/ES (same 16 in / 14 relay out, 100–240V AC, 16K-step program memory) for new designs. Migration requires program porting and wiring review; please email us for a migration plan.
